WORSHIP GOD WHOLEHEARTEDLY

How do you worship God? It’s easy to praise God when life is going well, but true worship means choosing to worship Him in both the good times and the difficult ones. In seasons of sickness, suffering, and uncertainty, we worship God through our trust, obedience, and gratitude. If we struggle to focus on Him and give Him praise during hard times, it may be an invitation to draw closer to Him and examine our hearts. Psalm 103 reminds us that wholehearted worship begins by remembering what God has done,

recognizing who He is, and resting in His sovereign care over our lives.

REMEMBER WHAT GOD HAS DONE

In the midst of life’s challenges, it’s easy to focus on problems rather than God’s blessings. Yet worship begins when we intentionally remember His goodness. Psalm 103:3–5 highlights how God forgives, heals, redeems, crowns, and satisfies His people. His forgiveness is complete and undeserved. Through Jesus Christ, we have redemption and the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7). This truth alone should move us to gratitude and sincere worship. God also sustains us daily. He rescues us from destruction, surrounds us with love and compassion, and fills our lives with good things. When we reflect on His faithfulness, our hearts are drawn to worship Him.

RECOGNIZE WHO GOD IS

It’s important to ask ourselves, “What do we think about God?” because our answer dictates how we interpret and navigate this world. God’s love for His people knows no bounds. His forgiveness is limitless, and His mercy is immeasurable (Psalm 103:11-12). When we remember God’s goodness and grace in our lives, it covers every sin, every failure, and all the suffering we experience in this fallen world. When we understand who God is and what Jesus has done, worship becomes our natural response to His goodness and grace.

REST IN GOD'S SOVEREIGNTY

Life is fragile and fleeting, but God’s love is everlasting (Psalm 103:15–18). He reigns over all things and fulfills His purposes according to His will (Psalm 103:19). Because God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present, we can trust Him completely. His sovereignty is not something to fear but a source of comfort. Even when life feels uncertain, we can rest in His control. When we remember what God has done, recognize who He is, and trust in His sovereignty, we can worship Him in every circumstance. Jesus invites us to come to Him and find rest (Matthew 11:28). May we respond with wholehearted worship, honoring Him in all that we do.
